A case of Prius Envy
Part 1: summary
The car companies are polluting every where. Even more pollution is created in densely populated countries like china. The car companies are trying to save the world and make it a better place with less pollution. The one big polluters in this crisis are cars; the solution for this is the hybrid cars that run on half oil and half electricity. In the article I read, they talked about the hybrid prius and its big sell. The company that made this car was none other than Toyota. Toyota plays a big role in the hybrid type cars; Toyota made the Toyota prius in 2003. Honda another big car company also caught on to the hybrid type cars. They created both the Honda insight in 1999 and the Honda civic in 2005. Toyota was very surprised to hear that the Toyota prius was a big hit in car selling. Toyota even thought of making a prius car line with different styles.
Part 2: Why this Issue is Important
The hybrid type cars are very important to the environment. This is because instead of using 100% fuel the hybrids use 50% fuel and 50% electricity. This topic fits into the economic category. More car companies are selling hybrid cars now, and more people now want to help earth’s environment. So the people in china should get these cars so more people help earth. Also the new models of the stylish hybrids from both Toyota and Honda are coming out in 2009
